David is an experienced teacher having taught at YAFTA for over 8 years. He is also a University Lecturer in Screen Acting. David holds a BA (Hons) in Drama from the University of Hull and an MA in creative practice from the University of Leeds. David went on to gain a further degree further from one of the world's top drama schools, LAMDA.
David has worked as a professional screen and stage actor for 20 years. Recent professional screen credits include The Moorside for the BBC, feature films Dark River and The Rise, and commercials for Johnstone’s Paint and Northern Rail.
David has also performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, The BAC and many other Off-West End theatres and played in several productions of Shakespeare. He has appeared in numerous short and independent festival films.
David is an integral part of the YAFTA team having worked with the organisation since the very beginning. David is involved in the design and delivery of the YAFTA syllabus including training performers at all levels from beginner to professional.
